Living LIfe one Chai at a time.
About this Blog:
Anyone that has known me literally any amount of time (minutes really) will know that I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with Oat Milk Chai Tea Lattes. I am a self described Chai Connoisseur. If there was such a thing as a PhD in all things Chai, well, you would be calling me Doctor Chai by now (After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Caffeinated Beverages) . A great Chai can make a heavy day brighter and add a little pep in my step……and the flip side of that coin is the first sip of what unexpectedly turns out to be a shitty Chai, can bring out a rage in me that burns with the intensity of a thousand suns. Due to my obsession and constant search of Chai, I have decided to document my travels and adventures through my Chai experiences.
The format of this blog will first complete a quick recap of BC and Alberta Chai Tea Latte’s from unique local cafes (with one from Belize just because). Once I have reviewed my past Chai experiences the focus will shift to document upcoming travels. This blog will be my real-time record of where in the world I am, while tasting and reviewing my all time favourite beverage. I will have a written component for each entry as well as a corresponding visual journal image that I wiIll have created that day during my time in the local cafe that I frequented.
Also…..if I go missing while abroad, you can use this as a very basic bitch white girl map to where I have been on my travels…….like the Martha Stewart version of Liam Nesson from “Taken” …..kidding……there is ZERO demand for an ‘almost 40 year old, mouth of a sailor, heavily tattooed, very clumsy, teacher’ on the black sex market, making it highly unlikely that I will be kidnapped and trafficked……..but follow me on my adventures anyway.
Toodles,
Shelly Seifridt
BC Chai Review Roundup:
From 2017 to 2025 I lived and drank Chai from one end of Vancouver Island to the other. I have compiled reviews for all the Cafe’s and the Chai they serve for the 8 years and hundreds (thousands?) of cups of Chai I drank while calling the Island home:
